Steel Framing that’ll last longer than that Toyota you swore you wouldn’t sell.
Why should I use Steel framing?
Premium composite and PVC boards can last 25 to 50 years.
Standard pressure-treated wood framing often starts to rot, twist, and pull fasteners well before that. So a lot of "lifetime" decks get torn out early. Not because the boards failed. Because the frame did.
Why settle for a frame that’s not going to last as long as your deck boards, when you can have a frame that will outlast them.
❋ Intentional StructureSteel deck framing won't rot, warp, sag, or burn. Your decking is warrantied for decades.
❋ Stronger than traditional lumberSteel joists span farther than wood joists of the same size. That means fewer posts underneath and less bounce when you walk on top.
❋ Does not Rot, Warp, or BurnWater, snow, and Colorado's freeze-thaw cycles don't break steel down. It's also noncombustible, which is why it's our go-to for homes in WUI zones.
Build with steel and you also won't be calling a handyman to replace the bottom of your stairs in 10 years.
❋ Installs Flat and stays flatAll of our decks are flat on day one. Wood framing can twist, crown, and shrink as it dries out in Colorado sun. Steel doesn't, so a steel-framed deck stays flat for the long haul.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Steel framing costs more up front than wood. Your quote shows the exact difference, side by side.
The way we think about it: if you're putting $20,000 of decking on top of a frame, the frame should last as long as the decking does. Otherwise you're paying for the deck twice.
If you plan to move in three years, wood framing might make more sense. We'll tell you that. But, if this is the house you plan to stay in, the Forever Frame is the one we'd build.

Not from the top. The decking and railings look the same. From underneath, it looks cleaner, and you don’t have to add fascia since the powder-coated steel can be just as nice of a finish.
-
The framing is shaded by the decking and also protected by its galvanized coating & the added powder-coat.
-
Yes. Steel frames can be extended, and we keep the plans.
