Jeffco's wildfire code and your deck
Colorado required every county and town with wildland-urban interface (WUI) areas to adopt a wildfire resiliency code in 2026. Jefferson County adopted its own version. If your home is in a mapped WUI area, a new deck or a major rebuild may have to meet those rules, which can include fire-rated decking and ignition-resistant framing. Before we design anything, we check your parcel against the county map. That way the plan you approve is the same plan that passes review. See our WUI deck page.
