Lakewood has its own wildfire code
In 2026, Lakewood adopted its own wildfire resiliency code and wildfire map, modeled on Jefferson County's. Homes near Green Mountain, Bear Creek Lake Park and the western edge of the city may be inside the mapped zone. Replacing an aging deck
A lot of Lakewood homes still have decks from the 1970s through the 1990s. Many of those are attached to the house in ways current code doesn't allow anymore.
